A poor Power Factor means penalties from the municipality. Ensuring that your Power factor is always running at unity is one of the simplest ways to ensure that you are saving money. A lower factor causes higher current flow for a given load. As the current increases, the voltage drops, resulting in low voltage supplied to equipment.
